Choosing a gold casting machine is a long-term investment. This guide walks through the specifications and factors that actually affect casting quality, yield and total cost of ownership.
1. Match capacity to your output
Melting capacity (for example 1–2 Kg) should match your typical flask size and daily volume. Oversizing wastes energy; undersizing throttles production. Estimate your peak flasks-per-day and choose accordingly.
2. Check the vacuum level
A strong, stable vacuum — around −759.98 mmHg — is essential for degassing and thin-wall filling. Ask for the rated vacuum level and how it is maintained during the pour.
3. Look for digital control
Digital PID control of temperature and timing makes casting repeatable and reduces dependence on operator skill. Recipe storage per alloy is a strong advantage for consistency.
4. Confirm power requirements
Most workshops prefer machines that run on 220V AC single-phase at 50 Hz without special wiring. Confirm current draw (for example ~6 Amp) and total consumption before installation.
