The complete jewellery manufacturing process, stage by stage

Modern jewellery manufacturing is a precise, multi-stage process. Here is how each machine contributes — from digital design to the finished cast tree.

Stage 1 — Design and pattern (CAD CAM & 3D printing)

It starts with a digital model. CAD CAM design and resin 3D printing produce an exact master pattern, removing the variation of hand carving and enabling thin, intricate designs.

Stage 2 — Mould making (die press)

A digital die press vulcanizes rubber around a master to create a durable mould. Even curing here means accurate, long-life moulds that hold fine detail.

Stage 3 — Wax injection

Automatic or digital wax injectors fill the rubber moulds with wax to create patterns, which are assembled onto a wax tree for casting.

Stage 4 — Investment and burnout

The tree is invested in plaster inside a flask, then a burnout furnace melts out the wax and cures the investment through controlled ramp stages, leaving a clean cavity.

Stage 5 — Melting and casting

An induction furnace melts the metal, and a vacuum casting machine pours it into the hot flask under vacuum for a dense, defect-free casting.
